Under the so - called "Never Ending Tour" last November 20 joined in Old Havana two of the largest of Cuban and Latin American music: singer Silvio Rodriguez and the group Buena Vista Social Club, who shocked the public with classic ballads and joy of Cuban son.
The concert, which was totally free, meant the number 70 of the "Never Ending Tour", an initiative created by Silvio Rodríguez with the intention of bringing music to the most vulnerable neighborhoods, always accompanied by various collaborating artists. On this occasion, the neighborhood Jesus Maria, in Old Havana, was on hand to welcome Silvio with Buena Vista Social Club and sonera Omara Portuondo.
The greatest exponent of the Cuban trova crowd with classics like "hope", "oleo de una mujer con sombrero" and "Unicorn", in addition to performing songs flag of popular movements as "The Fool" and "Song of Chosen" .
Meanwhile, Buena Vista Social Club, with the voice of sonera Omara Portuondo, brought the flavor and danced everyone with historical themes like "Chan Chan" and "El Cuarto de Tula".
"It is a meeting of great friends, musicians and poets of the old and the new trova," Jesus 'Aguaje' Ramos, trombonist and director of Buena Vista said. "I am proud to work today for all Cubans and Silvio is also a grace."
Buena Vista for this presentation meant more of his extensive "Farewell Tour" which they hope will bid farewell to the big stage after having played in Europe and the Americas. "We will withdraw from what are those long tours, but one never retires from music, is part of one," the trombonist Ramos.
