Entrapment of an Era

Song reviewed by:

In any other musical element the French duo Air would be known for their electronic based setup. Yet, if The Virgin Suicides soundtrack has not crossed your path, it should. The Virgin Suicides which was directed by Sofia Coppola depicts five sisters that ultimately come to face their own demise. Set against the soft approach of the 1970's, the sepia suntoned existence is felt and even more so through Air's instrumental tracks that accompany the film.

Air enscribed a more Jazz/hardy 70's feel to one particular track titled 'Playground Love'. By incorporating the essence of an era and locking it down into a musical concoction of notes, is mind blowing. Till this day Air are still acknowledged for their tremendous feat with scoring The Virgin Suicides, receiving the nod of approval in the sense that this has been some of their best work.

Take a listen to 'Playground Love' and fall back on the notion that you will be transported to an era, entrapped by the eletronic organic whole conclusion that is a Jazz element mixed with an Electronic substance.
