Boy Pablo Makes Teen Romantic Angst Warm and Inviting with Losing You

After being smiled upon by YouTube's algorithm, earning a significant fanbase, and embarking on a 15-city European tour, 18-year-old Chileno-Norwegian singer-songwriter Boy Pablo (Pablo Muñoz) has followed up on the breakthrough success of "Everytime" with "Losing You". The song's lyrics are laced with romantic bitterness once more, while the swirling guitars evoke a laidback and summery atmosphere. This time, it is his own heart that is on the line: 'How would you feel if I walked up to you one day/ How would you feel if I said to you/ That's how I feel you're treating me.' At Muñoz's hands, teenage romantic angst turns into a warm and inviting cocoon made of indie rock, bedroom pop, and chillwave. Comparisons with Toro y Moi come to mind, but Muñoz's youth appears to imbue his music with an assured optimism. There is a sense that everything will eventually fall into place, despite the present dissonance: 'Cause I feel like I'm losing you/ Oh how can that be true?/ I know you want me too.'

The accompanying music video features Muñoz jamming out alongside his four live bandmates - drummer Sigmund, keyboardist Eric, bassist Henrik, and guitarist Gabriel - with carefree abandon once again, this time against single-colored backdrops. Millennial pink features prominently - an apt visual signifier of Boy Pablo's resonance with a younger generation of internet natives.
