Spells Will Be Cast While Listening To Aldous Harding's Imagining My Man

This New Zeland singer has all the right moves planned out. A gothic remorse emotional track such as 'Imagining My Man' brings Aldous Harding into the lime light. Harding still in her twenties fits back sadness and happy memories with the latest relesed music video for 'Imagining My Man', nothing quite compares as we watch Harding riding around in the back of a cab reflecting on every bit of her life. While the audience watches Harding stare out the window to smirk, stare or remember a fragment of a use to be love, we see Harding inventing new standards and morals.

Harding may be known more in the Folk genre with a lyrical whip casting spells on anyone listening. As far as vocal tone and range goes, Harding adjusts to a lower register while performing.

As dissasociative as some of Harding's music can be including 'Imagining My Man' it would be the live quadrent of a musicians career where Harding soars away from the crowd. Full of a progressive approach to the stage, giving off a sinster wild woman appeal. Nothing feels scared yet Harding convinces anyone watching or listening to stay till the very end. Hopefully to witness the outcome of Harding's next spiritual/bewitching venture.

One aspect that struck me as odd was this essential French presence. Harding gives off a cold shoulder and cool attitude in the way many of Jean-Luc Godard films did in the 1960's. Whether trapped by circumstance or idealism, Harding has mentioned that the only focus on her mind is the future. So with the past being the past what kind of future does the singer see herself blooming towards? Does Imagining My Man suggest an ideal candidate for her second half? Or does Imagining My Man simply suggest an altered reality barely visible beyond the horizon.
