I'd like to issue out a statement "Adna is a singer-songwriter who will move you". If tears start to roll out or if apathy decides to descend from the heavens, Adna is probably the reason why.
This Swedish singer has blended pop with a folk structure. Constructing a lasting impression, a possible new take on the crossover genre. However, leaving Adna's career simply to a technical name for what genre she falls in would be a sore mistake on everyone's part. If you have not listened to "Beautiful Hell" go listen now. Afterward come back and sit quietly taking in what was just experienced.
Being able to convince anyone that a singer-songwriter exists who holds significant change and power within her midst, wouldn't be a long enough or descriptive tagline.
"Beautiful Hell" is sung among synth's, layered vocals, and an electric guitar. Each instrument sounds new. Adna refuses to conform towards a typical song structure. Even if "Beautiful Hell" sounds singular as a track, there is a whole new approach to songwriting here. Each instrumental note is used to amplify the lyrics intended. After a lyric is sung, a vibrated touch to Adna's vocals and echoed hook... pops in. One may experience an intimate essence as if this is a song too intimate to witness around others.
Without a doubt, in my mind, Adna is a musician who should be known around the world. If that meant only to hear one song or an entire album, Adna is an experience for a counter-culture of music going through some of it's most informative changes right now.
Experiencing Adna live is another spectrum. With the stage lit, Adna is the only one there and before the audience has time to process what is happening, Adna unleashes a haunted story.
