BENCOOLEN Take Over the 9:30 Club

Bencoolen has been one of the most noteworthy bands of 2016,  and 2017 is gearing up to be just as accomplished.  Sharing their new video with the world for "Spotlight," recently, the band had certainly peeked my interest. Attending their well-received year end show at the 9:30 Club in Washington DC, the band took to the stage, as if they have been performing their entire life. Technically young in age, the band is wise beyond their years, as their songwriting and musicianship shine through on the stage, from ear to ear.

Experiencing the band for the first time live, it certainly was a treat. As they poured their heart out in songs such as "In Color," and "The Crown," we also had the pleasure of hearing them mix it up with a version of Alabama Shakes "Don't Wanna Fight." One key element that I loved about the group, aside from their stunning and excellent songwriting and live skills, is the fact that they truly were having fun on the stage. Not only are they a band, but they are a band of brothers. Each member feeding off the musical vibe of the other, as they show their deep connection as a band, and musicians, onto the stage. Bencoolen will no doubt continue to be a stand-out act in the New Year, and if they come to your town, make sure you get out and experience their artistry for yourself!
