Chet Faker's Subgenre Promise

'I'm Into You' by Chet Faker was off of the debut Thinking In Textures. Since the explosion that has become Chet Faker's ever lasting legacy as a musician it is all safe to say that Faker is around to stay. No doubt about that...not even a little. However, 'I'm Into You' does deserve a tiny headlight of acknowledgement for the track's ever trusting crossover of Hip-Hop and Indie. Indie does throw in a few bad eggs from time to time (more often than a lot of us would care to admit). Although with the added mixture of Hip-Hop beats to shake up the tradition of acoustic only Indie...Hip-Hop has weaved a new subgenre. Thinking in Textures came out in 2012 were Faker congealed a house hold name. Anymore the name "Chet Faker" can be found on remixes, productions and features within albums. Not that Chet's existence on nearly each piece of newly released music is a bad thing but a bit exaggerative. Yet this objective goes to show which influences are here to stay and which one's falter. Now focusing in on 'I'm Into You', where the track takes on an undertone of smoky Jazz lineage. Beneath Chet's voice adjusts instruments waiting at the ready, throwing in a few electronic touches without killing the vibe. A rush of "kismet" emotions tend to rock the majority of this track. A happenstance of fate is what the musician shows off in 'I'm Into You'. Directing the attention of promises, what could be done and how rationally the fantasy of a lover seems possible instead of only partially capable. 'I'm Into You' sounds as if the musician found a muse worthy of writing about. In this case, very ideal yet maybe Faker has taken it a step further and imagined this muse from thin air. Whoever affected this artist to such an extent to end up on Faker's debut album may have very well started Chet Faker's career.
