Should You Sleep On The Floor Or Not?

Have you ever wanted to runaway from it all? The Lumineers ask this question with their song 'Sleep On The Floor'. A few days ago The Lumineers released the music video for 'Sleep On The Floor' and well let me tell you, it's a think piece. The Lumineers have been said to link certain songs to one another and apparently 'Sleep On The Floor' might just be the beginning in a line of songs. They all depict the life of a young woman starting off with the death of her father, when a man comes up to her and says 'If we don't leave now, you may not make it out". So with that line being said, the woman runs outside and ends up on the trip of a lifetime. Driving far, packing a few clothes, hitting the road and sees various places like Las Vegas.

Apparently all the songs...Ophelia, Angela, Cleopatra, and Sleep on the Floor are about the same woman. A story told through song via The Lumineers. Thankfully with the release of 'Cleopatra' the band have truly created a master piece. An expressive work of art existing solely for the purpose to tell a story.

'Sleep On The Floor' essentially starts out with a piano piece, delicate and sad. To an eventful climax of guitars and drum. As the guitar and drum comes in, the pair offer a change in pace. Some sort of happy turn of events...for the better. 'Sleep On The Floor' leaves a sad situation and in effortless time brings these two people to the forefront to live their lives. However, the song also depicts that this was what could have been...not an actual turn of events. The fact were a simple question such as 'leave now or stay' comes into play.

The Lumineers may be the only band having millennials questioning what they want out of life.
