Discovery of Lost On You

I was visiting a friend of mine in Osijek, Croatia. We were just having our second glass of wine, getting ready to leave the house for a bit of fun in the old town bars and pubs. While getting ready, she was taking care of the music. Suddenly, a song that was playing was caught to my ear. „Lost on you“  was its name. I have never heard of it before. A friend of mine, Nina as well, tells me it became extremely popular for some time now. A completely new singer  obviously had that special something.  For the last few months, I lost the love for the music, or shall I say, I enjoyed the silence for a change. So I had no idea what was new and comercial or not and Nina surprised me with this one. Even just listening to her voice, I couldn't decide if she was male or female. Nina explained that she was female and  became very popular with this song, after some time in the music scene. The live video is amazing, too. I could see myself sitting in a bar and listening to them, it would actually be amazing. Her short curly hair and boyish behaviour and rough voice completely took my attention and blew me away.

Her artistic name is LP and full name Laura Pergolizzi. She was born in 1981. in Long Island. Today she lives and works in LA. She is a singer and a songwriter. Laura wrote lyrics for Cher, Rhianna. Christina Aguilera etc.

There's a lot of speculation about her sexual orientation, specially because she looks and even acts a bit boyish. And the clothes she wears are a bit boyish as well. Amazing rough voice and catchy songs ask for good and bad critics. I think she's beautiful and successful and carismatic. Not many singers today make you feel paralysed or stop in front of your tv, laptop, video and see/hear more of  what she has to offer.

I think she is the most exciting new artist I have heard of for the last year or so. It seems like she's been in the music business since forever, songwriting or singing, she appeared on loads of highly popular songs. Seems like moving to LA was one of the good decisions careerwise. Keep the good work, I can't wait for more great stuff coming from you!
