Mature, Ease and A Sense Of Belonging

Pieces and pieces of fragments are being picked up and evolvoing into songs that should never be missed out on. Hazel English's track 'Control' nearly flew the nest and missed the play button. Not only was Soundcloud messing up but I had written down Hazel English beforehand in case something like technology having a glitch decided to happen. Now, shoegaze has a matter of fact reality...either the song is produced, mixed and performed on such a raw level with a lo-fi setting that it sounds damn near perfection. Or times...well we've never heard of those other bands and probably for good reason since shoegaze is sacred ground. Hazel English give us the freedom to hear 'Control' which allows us to be a litle judgemental and say...'Yep, they have certainly hit the nail on the head with this one'.

Without a doubt the swirl of hyper surrealism available in 'Control' plays well with vocally and the minimal use of string instruments. The XX who are a bit more Electronic than Shoegaze, they us a slight sexy edge. Hazel English assures the rest of us and comes off as the sole reasoning for improper thinking. Maybe in some relation Hazy English would be the older sibiling we see who has their life together, but are secretly fighting their own demons. A lesson to be learned, a mature existence and essentially looking for a way to belong if only to themselves and not to the rest of societal pressures.
