Invasion of Pop

High Tyde entrust the holy grail of guitar with their single 'Gold'. At first when 'Gold' started playing two distinctive thoughts came to mind. One, this could end up being an upbeat guitar entrusted track. Two, once the vocals kicked in I got a sense of The Vamps, a boy group playing with instruments. However, in a clever pull High Tyde attract the highest altitude of drums and guitar combative rhythms with their track 'Gold'. High energy, high spirit and high everything. I guess it goes with the band name ironically enough.

Based in Brighton, High Tyde have the aesthetic to make it. Take a look at the cover art, the fact that in a slight twist of fate High Tyde sound a bit like the Pop version of Fall Out Boy. That's not a throw towards the band, in reality Fall Out Boy were unique, different and iconically likeable. Hide Tyde are in that same boat, maybe even a little bit more advanced.

THe band borders on loosing their cool and completely living out a freak out moment. 'Gold' follows a tide that continues to climb and climb, waiting at any moment for a climatic opportunity only to draw in their audience further, building up the anticipation. Ultimately as a music fan, 'Gold' offers an increased pull towards wanting more.

Even better is the slight Santana guitar sound at the beginning. Unexpected yet inviting and warm. Everything about High Tyde on paper says this band shouldn't work out, however this band has dug in with their wants and come out with a riotous effort that should not be ignored.
