We Do Not Look

On an acapella note, Ayla Nereo uses the opportunity to emulate a chorus of vocals. Using only the voice given to Nereo, we are only the recipients of the unnerving and hypnotic presence Nereo gives off. Using a similar technique that Ed Sheeran made infamous, a loop pedal capable of thransforming any sound into a backbeat choir. Ayla Nereo controls 'Look At The River' with a vocal presence that comes off as persistent yet inviting. 'Look At The River' contributes to a chant like embodiment of the essence of a river, yet Ayla channels the complex's of human life. By complimenting nature, Nereo comes across as having an underlying truth. The truth based around how human nature is intune with nature itself.

Now the genre choosen for Ayla Nereo is not the exact description. Taken from the influences from the 60's folk revolution era, 70's acapella brigade and a slight psychedelic whirlwind from the looped effects, Nereo is vastly different from the others. Without the majority of Nereo's music drenched in synth possibilities; instead 'Look At The River' possesses an odd credible eerie organic chant. From vocal overlays to the snapping of fingers, and an added string completely overtake this track. Winding down and repeating a handful of lyrics until the ending shows us what we should be looking at, and in Nereo's case "we do not look".
