When a songstress or singer-songwriter comes out of the blues, out of the woods via SoundCloud. That magical meeting is met through the headphones of a music lover, waiting to be transported to the world said singer-songwriter intends on vocalizing for the time. Julia Jacklin rolls her voice around in punches fit for a bar brawl without ever leaving the living room. From the Blue Mountains, Julia Jacklin sounds as mystical as the songs that are on 'Don't Let The Kids In' album, coming out October 7th, 2016.

Whay Julia Jacklin stands out from the brat pack of young singers, an unlikely inspiration for Jacklin was Britney Spears. However, after listening to 'Leadlight' one can clearly hear Jacklin discovering her own vocal ability and experimenting with range. After reading off a list of names of women prominent today: Anna Calvi, Angel Olsen and Fiona Apple. By picking out selected ticks from each extremely talented artists, Jacklin was able to cultivate a matter of existance, exploring throughout her music.

With 'Leadlight' a heavy weight of emotion, collaboration from electric guitar and drums. In a certified tone 'Leadlight' points and picks every string and word to a perfection, that it actually aches to listen to on repeat. But you do so anyway. Soaking in Jacklin's storytelling vocals, wavering on valleys by giving away just enough of the ending and having the audience guess the outcome.
