Swedish indie pop/rock trio Peter Bjorn and John (Peter Morén, Björn Yttling and John Eriksson) are best known for their 2016 whistling indie smash hit "Young Folks", a track from their third album Writer's Block (2006). "Breakin' Point", the title track from their seventh album, also features some (relatively nondescript) whistling, but is decidedly less preoccupied with youth or adolescence:
"It’s about waiting for new things coming ahead that will leave the past in the dust or at least make it look very different. About mental and physical adjustment. About kids becoming parents and maybe about growing up. About perspective, balance and seeing things for what they might actually be and not blown up to grotesque proportions. It features great production from Emile Haynie and whistling (may seem like bigger news than it is, hey its only whistling) and its the title track from our new album and we’re very proud of it!"

As CoS' Nina Corcoran has observed, its the slow pop tracks on the album that really shine (the stellar pop producer line up of Paul Epworth, Emile Haynie, Greg Kurst has led to an overly-produced, plastic feel on the more 'purely' pop tracks). "Breakin' Point" lets the synths and guitars slightly subside, making room for Morén's soul-searching lyricism:
'In the European late October nightsStay inside with your doubtsIn the quest of what it's worthwhile always triedOn the couch, hypnotisedIt's a small step for humanityA giant step for meI've been waiting for your kick to set me freeSaw it in Jesus, saw it in SupermanGot it from whiskey like any loser canWe're running on empty and leave it all in your handsNow show me what you doI'm listening to you'
