Husky is a Melbourne-based indie post-rock duo that consists of singer-songwriter Husky Gawenda and multi-instrumentalist Gideon Preiss. As Saby Reyes-Kulkarni notes, Gawenda and Preiss "essentially make earnest, acoustic guitar-driven music with hooks that burrow into the memory as effectively as it tugs at heartstrings."
"Drunk" is a track from their second album Ruckers Hill (2015), certainly works in this vein to present an uplifting and lyrical meditation on a difficult period in Gawenda's life:
'I feel the fire… that you startedAnd walk the wireEmpty heartedI was just, drunk back thenWriting notes I'd never sendCome on back, I need you homeI know it's strange but when in RomeI feel the time is coming…For youFor meFor everybodyDo you have a light my friend? And can you tell me where the road might bend up ahead? Can you take me somewhere else?'

With light guitar strumming, sober harmonies and retrospective lyrics, "Drunk" adresses an offtstage significant other and looks to the future to grasp the silver lining in this cloud of alcoholism:
'I feel the time is coming…And I feel the time is coming…And I feel the time is coming…For youFor meFor everybody…'
