The alternative/indie scene that has grown and flourished in London never ceases to surprise me. From the singers to the instruments they are able to wield to their power of expressing themselves. Wildes is no different, she is attached to the long ever extending list of musicians to know and eventually get around to buying their album. However, each time the laptop turns on 'Bare' has this magnetic pull of attraction that seems to place the headphones upon my ears and clicks the play button on SoundCloud.
Wildes has the quality of being unique and justifiably original. Somehow Wildes has created something from nothing and with her talent as a musician, we all can see her recording this music in her bedroom. Wildes is believable, 'Bare' is chaotic without the singer raising her voice too high. Wildes is not here to impress or ask for your attention to perform. 'Bare' will stun the listener into submission by simply asking you "please".
Do you know of a song that has that much power? I can only name a handful but Wildes stands out from the crowd, from all the songs gathering dust because original content will always resurface to capture the world's attention...the only question left is are you listening? And Wildes asks everyone that without reframing or shying away.
