Shining Bright- Echosmith

Ever wondered what song could probably express that feeling when you get all warmed up inside and your face always shows brilliant smiles- the kind of smile that reaches the eyes? Then listen to Echosmith's 2013 debut album, Talking Dreams, and brace yourselves for youthful take on dance-rock paying tribute to '80s pop music. The four Sierota siblings comprise this band. The California-based Echosmith includes lead singer Sydney, guitarist/vocalist Jamie, bassist/vocalist Noah, and drummer Graham. Working with producer Mike Elizondo and songwriter Jeffery David, the band's novel effort had paved the way into the music industry.

All their songs give depth to the album despite the aura of lightness given off. Their tracks tend to stick in listeners’ heads for a long time. The romantic title track, the sparkling "Let's Love," and the bouncy "Come with Me" are all infectious and brilliantly produced, but my personal favourite song to listen to is “Bright” which mentions a lot about the stars, moon, and Jupiter and the universe. It is a generally feel good acoustic song about being currently filled with someone’s love. The lyrics are well-thought, too- a masterpiece which tickles the imagination, particularly the visual imagery the song creates in the minds of the listeners. I would gladly recommend this song to all couples who are just starting their “Once upon a time” (because all love stories start with these fuzzy feelings, right?)

“Did you see that shooting star tonight? Were you dazzled by the same constellation?”

Its chorus is also rich in poetic description, making the song such as its title “Bright.” It is also catchy and easy to the ears. Besides from being a love song, this could also be an escape song if the listener wants to stay calm and feel relaxed after a long, busy day at work or at school. As for me, It is also a good thing to listen to this on repeat when traveling. It can also influence the mind to think of happy and positive thoughts - to think about the vastness of the galaxy and include the majestic stars, moon and planets.

When I first listened to their songs, I think their angst can compare to that of Paramore and their powerful lyrics remind me of the band He is We. I was surprised to know that the members of Echosmith barely in their twenties and lead singer Sydney just sixteen. These kids still have a long way to go and I’m sure they will make it big

Imagine listening to the song “Bright” on a summer night, laying on a blanket on the grass, next to your love, the soft warm breeze blows and both of you look at the stars above.
