Terrifying the Masses

Son Lux may just so happen to be the only artist that can equally terrify and thrill an individual that comes upon his music for the first time. With the track You Don't Know Me off of the latest album Bones...declares an almost religious sect to the video. Lyrically their are lines that depict a religious attitude, however, the music video directed by Nathan Johnson shows a woman that may be treated as a holier than thou object to her lover's affection. All the while, the woman says beneath her breath "you don't know me at all". Possibly feeling invisible as her other half talks and kisses upon her neck, the woman shows us what is happening in her mind and beind the scenes.

I am all for the double perception filter when it comes to spilt personalities or a secret life that is hidden from a significent other. Nathan Johnson did a great thing by making pastel paint even seem sinister without drawing blood.

Son Lux makes the kind of music that would and should be on American Horror Story. An easy foreboding with a hint of trembling fear and a slight smile of deceit.

All in all Son Lux paired with Nathan Johnson has to be a pair made in unholy heaven.
