So this is the third volume with crazy drum and bass weapons. When i hear the first compilation from Nothing But... from DNB weapons i was really pleased but it was not very special find with some fresh tunes, it was wicked and party ready but i was sure i can and will find something fresher! So than very fast i got the second compilation from the same series and i was starting to undestand the game. They were playing on safe and that is just ok always until they distribute to us quality DNB weapons hard, steady and GO ONN tracks in one branded compilation series. Just to be clear: I'm not saying that i didn't like the tunes from this series, just i believe that they can discover and bring something more fresher, younger artists with more experimental and free producing seassons in their portfolio.
So i pick few tracks and represent Nothing But... compilation series at one of my Toxicology Parties. Everyone were pretty happy with most of my choice of the DNB weapons, even more happy than me, so i told to myself: oh i will need to check this two volumes more carefully when i arrive home.
So i was just about to start my session with the 4hour of the Nothing But.. DNB weapons and almost at the same moment i recieve the third volume by this series.
Drum and Bass Weapons Vol.3, so this must be a sign- i told to myself and i push the third volume of this series on the table for listen seasson.
I was so impressed by the order and choice for this mix that i call my producer at my label and run off to show him what just happen ! This was everything that i missed in the first two volumes are they listening what i'm thinking? My mind was blown and my producers mind too.
It wasn't just some fresh music we found some fresh artists too !!! Now we are speaking !!!
We didn't listen the whole compilation, we got to the #19th track and we discover a new analogue machine master. We found this artist Sfera and we checked his discography, we was so blown away by his work, he play so freely and his sound is kinda fresh of the analogue touch but still the old school drum and bass that we was jumping around few decades ago.
I needed to find more so i check youtube and guess what? He got lot's of videos there of live playing and even recording in one take!
ONE TAKE people that we were looking for all this time, where the old school theme tunes will always feel new and fresh because of this talent of the manipulation of his electronic machines and few modules, analog is my fetish so yes i guess we will hear lot of this artist named Sfera, we are sure that soon he will shooting the underground sexy charts where our industry meets, right?P.S.
I almost forgot damn it! This is not his first experiance in DNB weapons compilations, he is also part of
NOTHING BUT... STRAIGHT UP WEAPONS, VOL. 7
