As I look at a ceiling in my room I see gorgeous patterns of my dreams and hopes. I see life smiling at me. I begin hearing sounds, whispers and voices. I’m not crazy, I’m just too imaginative. It helps me a lot. When I listen to “Low Pressure” – a fresh EP by Melly, my imagination becomes very cheerful and productive. My Mr. Hyde runs and hides; and all the good comes to light. Melly’s music is something shiny and unbelievably good. Melly is a project of Dublin-based electronic musician and producer. His sounds are atmospheric, gentle and thoughtful. This music is a tasty mix of experimental techno and something which can be called tropical house. Yes, exotica from Ireland flavored with magnificent and dreamy synths dancing to the rough beats. As I listen to this EP I find myself wishing to get lost for a while on some tropical island with no people. It’s just the ocean, me and the sounds of Melly. I am sure this would be great, because the tracks won’t give you many choices: you can dance and dream to it. And of course you can make love while Low Pressure songs are crating your perfect atmosphere. But making love can be done to anything. So let’s get back to dreaming and dancing. Deliberate rhythms and tricksy, skittish basslines make feel like you are all alone among lianas and adventures.
