JUNGLE - JUNGLE

I'll admit, I was late to the Jungle bus. In my defence, as soon as they entered my radar, I was positively hooked. it seems to me that Jungle is successfully producing something other people have been trying to do for years. Their self-titled album, released in 2014 is just the right balance of cool, controlled vocals and smooth, jazzy instrumentation. The combination is unique and modern. I believe the cool kids call it "fresh".

Before you assume that the album is a lot of just the same sound, you should know that while there is a great sense of flow between the songs, each one is unique in feel and in content. From the party starter, The Heat, to the moody Lemonade Lake and the roadtrip ready "Busy Earnin", the album is a go-to for any occasion. It's epic feel and catchy melodies lends itself to imagining a visual landscape unfold as you listen. Perhaps I am not the only one who feels this way, as its wide use on Television and the silver screen may suggest. It's a feel good album that's musically complex enough to focus on and smooth enough to play at a dinner party, rendering it an essential part of your collection.
