After piquing widespread curiosity with her sensuous 2014 single "Touch" and teasing fans at www.hasshurafinishedheralbumyet.com, London singer-songwriter and producer Shura (Aleksandra Denton) has finally released her debut album Nothing's Real (2016). Shura's catchy, bedroom pop tracks, which rely on 1980s production, have earned her comparisons to Madonna, but critics like Kitty Empire are quick to point out that Shura's lyrical persona doesn't really emulate Madonna's blonde, ambitious, out-there dominatrix persona - opting instead to embody the lovelorn melancholy of an introverted, wallflower-type persona: "Shura’s forte is bittersweet yearning".
"What's It Gonna Be" is probably one of the more 'extroverted' tracks on the album, beginning with an inner confession of vulnerability that soon picks up enough understated, sun-drenched confidence to almost makes Shura sound authoritative ('I don't wanna give you up/I don't wanna let you love somebody else but me/ So what's it gonna be?'):
'Do I tell you I love you or not?Cause I can't really guess what you wantIf you let me down, let me down slowIf you let me down, let me down slowIf you got feelings for meYou just gotta speak honestlyIf you let me down, let me down slowIf you let me down, let me down slow'

The accompanying music video captures Shura's playful, earnest side, as she and her high school gay best friend successfully plot to 'seduce' their respective female and male love interests.
