Naughty Boy's Runnin' vs. Guillaume Nery's Ocean Gravity

Free diving is a form of underwater diving that relies on divers' ability to hold their breath until resurfacing. In this extreme sport, Guillaume Néry is one of the best in the world with several world records and a bunch of captivating and popular  videos Director Julie Gautier (Néry’s wife) has produced.

One of such videos is “Ocean Gravity” filmed in French Polynesia’s Tiputa Pass. This captivating footage shows Guillaume Néry riding on a powerful ocean rip current as if he was a satellite orbiting an alien planet.  Music for this short film was scored by The Glitch Mob (How to Be Eaten by A Woman), and it is just perfect for the intended space weightlessness theme depicted throughout the video. (Watch it, you will not regret it…)

In Naughty Boy’s new and very cool video “Runnin’ (Lose It All)” feat. Beyoncé and singer Arrow Benjamin, a man (Guillaume Néry) and woman are seen running and dancing in what looks like a footage inspired on Nery’s “Ocean Gravity”.

So, here's a tongtwister: Do you prefer a professional freediver with an awesome score or a DJ with an awesome song and a professional freediver? I say kudos to both! And especially to Guillaume Néry who just inspired and participated in a music video that will make freediving a much more popular sport around the world.

Enjoy and until next time…
