Music journey of Ryan Koenig begun in the basements of Midwest, in the role of a guitarist and singer of garage-punk band The Vultures. Twelve years later, he becomes internationally known for his engagement in the band Pokey LaFarge. He is also famous for his mouth harmonium solo virtue. In his city, St.Louis, and on the regional scene covered by Big Muddy Records, Ryan is a hero due to his work with top notch blue roots duo Rum Drum Ramblers, his folk duet with his wife Kelly, and his solo performances under the name Lonesome Cowboy Ryan. Further on, he is practically responsible for the rise of Big Muddy Records, because he participated on 90% of their releases since 2005.

On his debut, Ryan Koenig is attached to specific places and specific characters. Skilfully, he builds ambients soaked in honky tonk and Tex-Mex and shows himself as a cowboy. Lyrically, the album is full of sourness. Struggling With a Lot and This Old Main Drag Is About To Drag Me Down describe cruel economic reality of both rural and urban America. Am I Still In Your Heart (Or Am I Just In Your Way), It's Easy To See and The Last Resident speak about tormenting life in dysfunctional relationships. On the other hand, Cheyenne and Podemos Se Te Quieres are ballads about departures of loved ones.

Geographically, the record is set in Texas and Mexico, which is obvious due to the of use local dialect and Spanish phrases. Still, the best definition of the music that can be found on Two Different Worlds is classic country. Considering that Ryan is an experienced recording artist, he managed to technically perfect his sound without making it appear two polished. The first influence that comes to mind is Hank Williams, but you wouldn't be a fool If you also heard Sir Douglas Quintet in his sound. Anyhow, the album is a jackpot!
