Let's All Take A Walk

If you have listened to Passion Pit before than you know just how great their music really is. Each song is a unique journey synthesized by the electronic/pop rhythm that the band follows. Throughout the bands history they have released three albums, as of the current day. In their second album titled, “Gossamer,” their lead-hit single “Take a Walk” was a huge hit and is was lit the fire for the album. I personally love this song because of its catchy and up-beat rhythm. It takes the theme of the Great Recession and explains the different tragedies involved. Once the chorus hits, it seems to throw these tragedies aside and projects the up-lifting rhythm to sooth any of the listener’s pain.

This synth-pop nugget is one of the greatest songs of the Great Recession: "My partner called to say the pension funds were gone," sings Michael Angelakos with barely suppressed panic. Then the bright, upwardly mobile chorus kicks in, and you are reminded why pop songs exist: to help mute the pain.

On the outside this song might seem like just another electronic pop song who’s only aim is to entertain the listener with a preppy beat. But this song is so much more than that, it tells a story. If you are able to listen to the lyrics than you will be able to hear the story that Passion Pit has to tell.
