How has your sound and style evolved in the last 3 years?
Answer:

I'm using more guitars and less synths, although I have not abandoned synths entirely. It seems like everytime I write a song with a keyboard sound it turns out like a retro song. I love that, but I want to explore other styles of music. I am finding it easier to get a sense of what each song needs to reach its potential.  I am also finding it easier to say what I want to say with my lyrics. I am being more honest. I suppose that makes me more vunerable, but that is really all this is about in the first place, right?

What does your dream performance look like?
Answer:

Carnegie Hall, of course. That is the dream venue. An intimate setting with great acoustics  and a tight band having fun with the music...and tons of applause!

How do you plan on being a game-changer within your genre?
Answer:

I think a mixture of styles is what I am actually doing...Indie, Indie Pop, Indie Rock, Acoustic, Disco Pop, Retro and even some Jazz. I am not sure that I fit into any one genre entirely. I want to change the genre for violin players. It can sound way cooler with some great plug ins and effects. I like to go for making my violin sound more like a guitar or saxaphone than a traditional violin. That is when things get exciting. A cool violin solo that rocks!

Do you practice? How has your practice changed over time?
Answer:

The same question was phrased a different way when I was growing up... how do you get to Carnegie Hall? Practice!

I used to get the music stand from the corner of the room, tune up my violin and play from sheet music and books without accompaniment. Now I pick a performance from Youtube with a great conductor and play along with the symphony when I am playing classical music. Its like being right in the middle of the orchestra!

I also make mixes of my music that are purley instrumentals so I can play it and sing over them live. This is so helpful to prepare for performances like sitting in with other musicians around town.

What genres does this release play into?
Answer:

This song has a laid back feel with interesting guitar riffs and keyboard sounds, along with a smooth vocal that make it fit as an Indie song. I do like it when I can get the music to match the lyrics, and I was very happy to find the right combination of keys to get the "Chill" vibe that I was going for. There is a break in the chorus with less instrumentation then the verses, which is actually very different than the traditional form of most popular songs. It also fits into Disco Pop, according to a few playlisters, which is a new genre that I am having fun with.

What is the strangest place where you have discovered a new song?
Answer:

Strangest place ? Hmmm...I get inspired by nature. My best ideas come when I am somwhere on the beach or swimming in the pool looking out at the tall trees swaying in the breeze and the sunlight radiating through the branches.
