Bradley Denniston,WLL Perspective on In The Mood - WLL Remix

I've worked with Brad previously on my remix for one of Radium's artists. LJ Smooth.
my remix for "The Feeling" was my first official remix.
Brad was a great partner to work with, and he gave me full freedom to do what I believed the remix needed and to express myself artistically.
Coming from Brazil, I've always tried to bring some accent of my country's music into my productions.
in this case, I brought some "Baile Funk" percussions, which makes the genre, instantly recognizable.
another part of my process with remixes is that I only use the vocals.
I rarely use other instruments or elements from the original song. I like to think as if I'm restarting a brand new production, a new point-of-view to the story.

I don't have only one way to work.
but in case of remixes I like to start with the vocals, add some drums (basically finding out the bpm) and add the harmonies to feel if the vocal sits nicely on the vibe.

it depends, I think its 50/50. I prefer having the first ideas by myself, and then maybe developing them with others.

yes, anything goes. Nothing is too ridiculous or bad at the first moment of making a song.
then for a second moment, I have a more detailed "editing" look at it.

the brainstorming. that first moment when you're putting sounds together and seeing the song taking shape.
I particularly do not enjoy the mixing and mastering process.
