How does your background play into this song?
Answer:

This song is based somewhat on experiences of living in New York City after arts school. Classic story young couple coming to the big city to find fame and fortune. With bearly any money to speak of we would more than we should go out for breakfast. New York City is full of cool little diners and who doesn't love breakfast, right?  It was just the way we planned out our days.  Fortunately, in reality the young lovers the song is based on have had a more positive future, still together as a matter of fact, but sometimes it's more interesting to create alternate endings.

What is your overarching goal as an artist?
Answer:

This is always a good question. It's really the desire to connect with people on some level.  For us, the way we do it is through trying to craft songs that we hope will resonate with people and of course enjoy.

Do you have one main reason driving you to continue making music?
Answer:

It's strange, just people do what's inside themselves. Despite what has gone on in our lives there always seems to be a song in the back of our head.  Music is one of the ways we try to make sense out of what we see in the world - the good, the bad, the different, the indifferent. So not one reason, but maybe many reasons we continue to sing in the shower, strum a nearby guitar or drum out a beat on the steering wheel.

What is the most significant lesson you've learned through being an artist?
Answer:

Patience, humility, being more accepting of others.  We all see things and experience the world in different ways.  Art regardless of the medium, really allows the artist communicate a little piece of that experience to another person. It can communicate across time and place to deliver that experience of joy or love, pain or sorrow. It's quite awesome.  Of course, not all art resonates with everyone the same way, but there are millions of minds out there, even the potential to touch some of that vastness is humbling.
