Who are you and what do you do?
Answer:

Hey Music Lovers!

Nice to be here, I'm Daniel W. Shrigley.

I make music because it's fun. That's just what I do.

How does your background play into this song?
Answer:

I have a lot of life experiences likely do to my age and career paths. I use my like experience to contribute to my song as I write each one or I'll admit, a lot of my songs come to me when relaxed and joking about with friends and family.

What is your earliest memory of listening to music?
Answer:

I am a 70's child, so growing up was a great time to learn about music. All the greats were still at their peaks in their careers. Totally contributed to my love of music and my music today.

At what moment in your life did you decide to become an artist / performer?
Answer:

I've always been making music in some way shape or form. I recently decided to just run with it and release music as I create it. I'm a one man show. From first ink to paper, to final assembly and production. Totally a true independent artist.

What genres does this release play into?
Answer:

It's base is rock with country vocals. Country-Rock.

How has your sound and style evolved in the last 3 years?
Answer:

I've only been in the music business producing tracks for three months at the time this song was released. I look forward to learning and growing, that's what's fun about this experience. You don't walk into this industry after you know everything. You learn as you go and grow to become the best version you can be as long as you remain true to your core values and morals.

What themes do you explore throughout your music?
Answer:

I've covered a broad spectrum of themes. I don't restrict myself to a specific genre. Check out all my music and tell me what genres of mine you like best from me. I'd love the feedback.

If you could go on tour with any artist, who would it be and why?
Answer:

Heck I'd go on tour with Mickey Mouse if it meant collaborating with another artist. My true talent is songwriting. I would enjoy helping someone with making their song come to life.

How would you describe your favorite artist's music to someone who has never heard them before?
Answer:

Sometimes you just have to let them listen and tell them why you enjoy this song or track. Then ask them why they like or dislike the song. If they like it then you just score a small victory for everyone who took part in making that some public and especially the artist.

How would you describe your music to someone who has never heard it before?
Answer:

My music is something for everyone. Multiple genres and all very well written lyrics. Please listen to each of my songs and give me feedback. I can't wait to hear constructive criticism or positive feedback. We are here to share and improve. I've only been in the Biz for three months and put out 30+ songs, with some still about to release.

If you could attend a performance by any artist, dead or alive, who would you choose and why?

Answer:

• Stevie Nicks

• Blake Shelton

What does your dream performance look like?
Answer:

I would love to be on stage with other great artists and musicians on a collaboration project like 'We Are The World' for AIDS awareness. We need something like that again in the world today for many deserving causes.

Who is your dream artist or musician to collaborate with?
Answer:

•Blake Shelton

or Ozzy from 20 years ago. lol 😂

• Approachable

What is your favorite way of sharing your music?
Answer:

In person one on one, or over social media in DM's one on one with people I know.

Do you practice? How has your practice changed over time?
Answer:

I make music every week. Sometimes two to three songs I write. Then I slap it all together the the ingredients of grandma's apple pie and we end up with a bakery full of delicious treats. Treats being the music. I don't practice because I'm to busy creating and producing music. It's worked for me up to this point.

What is the most memorable response you've had to your work?
Answer:

Wow! I had so

many wonderful responses and positive feedback that it all blends in together. I honestly think I'll say it was a critique from a playlister, curator told me to use less voice synthesizer in my song. Honestly if I didn't use the tool the song would have turned out to be country music and not Rock. The goal was Rock with a Country vocal. But the critique is invaluable because it's a different perspective and opinion. I like opinions especially about music. Especially from someone that has been doing for years what I am trying to launch into and have. I'm in the music business Baby! It's a business not a hobby! 30 releases all singles in one month, one week. Wow

What is your definition of success as an artist? How do you measure this success?
Answer:

Let you know when I find out, I just got here. I haven't had a chance to fail let alone succeed. lol 😂

How do you plan on being a game-changer within your genre?
Answer:

I'm here to have fun. Just got off the place from a 15 hour flight for my past life and am embracing my new music career. I am not trying to change anything, but the industry needs some old ways returned to it that was lost completely in the mid 1990's. We need all music and we need all talents. I'm just happy to be here and if I change anything it will be myself for the better.

What role do you believe the artist has in our society?
Answer:

Music makes the world spin. We as public figures must always represent the the best versions of ourselves because we never know who's watching what we do and we should never be bad role models.

Name a song that best represents success to you, and why?
Answer:

Jingle Bells 🔔 because everyone sings it or listens to it every year. That song is eternal forever.

What jobs have you done other than being an artist?
Answer:

I've been a active shooter first responder at Kaiser Permanente Hospitals wearing full tactical gear armed. 18 years Combat Arms in the U.S. Army as a Cavalry Scout Sergeant. I've worked a bodyguard and armed security officer for 26 years. I've worked in Oakland on patrol of low income housing in high crime neighborhoods. I've patrolled the housing developments in San Francisco for the SAN FRANCISCO HOUSING AUTHORITY. I've patrolled Santa Clara VALLEY TRANSIT AUTHORITY as a armed patrol officer. I know a few things because I have seen a few things. 😂

How would you define having an artistic outlook on life?
Answer:

A creative mind turns everything into art.

What is your overarching goal as an artist?
Answer:

I truly would like to support my family with my music. But starting out there's no income. It's all a loss financially. Yes it's an investment in yourself but it's also a gamble. Please support your artists coming up if you can. Few dollars here and there adds to the pot to help out. I

How have your other passions reinforced your process of making music?
Answer:

Listen to my songs I made music about it. lol modern Day Gunslinger is about me. Survivalist is about me. I have songs getting released in September 2024.

Has being an artist made your life lonely? How do you counteract this?
Answer:

No it's been a great experience for me and I have lots of support from my immediate family.

Work of Art? So I'm not limited to music. Back in First Grade I made my Mom a clay handprint at school for my Mom as a surprise on Mother's Day. From there on out I was in love with Art.

Name three artists you’d like to be compared to.
Answer:

I'm to humble and not qualified to list any names. I'm too new in the industry to even know how to answer this question.

What is the most significant lesson you've learned through being an artist?
Answer:

It's not a hobby it's a business rather you like it or not, you produced a song or more. You're in the music business and it's an actual business now.

Do you have one main reason driving you to continue making music?
Answer:

It's fun! I am having a blast producing and creating new songs and music and then having the ability to share it with the world it a great time to have.
