Who are you and what do you do?
Answer:

I am DeAndre Jackson. I am a soldier in the US Army for 15 years, I am a husband and father of 4. I have 4 dogs and I love music and performing. I have always been a performer and now I'm taking it to the next level.

What is your earliest memory of listening to music?
Answer:

My earliest memory of music is Michael Jackson with my dad.....listening to it on a Reel-To-Reel player. I remember my dad dancing to it and he doesn't dance, so it was a core memory to me. We had a stacked player in a glass case, the Reel-To-Reel was on the top, then a record player, CD player, Tape Cassette player, Radio then equalizer.

At what moment in your life did you decide to become an artist / performer?
Answer:

I have always wanted to be in movies, so I did plays throughout all of elementary and middle school and part of high school. When i realized that i could put my feelings into rhyme, I started that. But I REALLY got into music and performing when Lil' Bow Wow came on the scene. I was watching him on BET and i thought, "If he can do it, I can too." The rest is history.

What genres does this release play into?
Answer:

This track plays into HipHop, slight Old School and Pop

How has your sound and style evolved in the last 3 years?
Answer:

My style have molded into its own sound over the years. I used to want to sound like Texas rappers, but it wasn't me. When I found Dubstep and EDM, I realized that I can restructure my sound. I have more bounce, more charisma, better similies and metaphors, better punchlines and a better style of recording.

If you could go on tour with any artist, who would it be and why?
Answer:

Who I would want to go on tour with is a strange mix......Nas,Busta Rhymes, Ludacris, Tech N9ne, Hopsin, and Eminem. Every one of these people have helped me to become the artist I am today. Every single artist here is a legend in my eyes and i would be honored to tour with any one of them. The storyteller, the leader of the new school, the crazy one, the strange music soldier, the underground prodigy and the insane lyricist.

How would you describe your music to someone who has never heard it before?
Answer:

I would describe my music as a mix of East Coast Lyricism with a Midwest soul.

If you could attend a performance by any artist, dead or alive, who would you choose and why?
Answer:

If I could attend ANY performance, it would be a 2Pac concert. Because I was enamored with his music after he passed. I am sad that I was not old enough to really understand what he was speaking about.

What is your favorite song you have made, and why?
Answer:

Good Times (LGFU) is my favorite song that I have made so far because, for me, it encompasses the long work week and the release during the weekend. It's tehe ultimate, 'let's drink' song.

If you could only listen to three artists for the rest of your life, who would you choose and why?
Answer:

If I could only listen to 3 artists for the rest of my life, I would pick: Nas, 2pac, and Eminem for their storytelling ability.

What does your dream performance look like?
Answer:

My dream performance looks like thousands of people singing my songs, knowing all my lyrics.....wanting an encore and screaming "JACK FROST!!!!"

Who is your dream artist or musician to collaborate with?
Answer:

I would love to collaborate with Tech N9ne on a party song.

What is the strangest place where you have discovered a new song?
Answer:

I discovered Nicki Minaj on my first deployment. I was in Iraq coming back and there was a volcano that erupted, so we were stuck for 12 days with a 3 day bag. In that time, I found livemixtapes.com and with that I found Nicki's early mixtapes.

What do you want people to feel when they listen to your music?
Answer:

I want people to feel as if they aren't alone when they listen to my music. That they can feel upset, that they can feel alone, that they don't have to be gangster or pimps. I want people to know that there is anotherway to go.

Do you practice? How has your practice changed over time?
Answer:

I practice constantly. I am not perfect by any means, lol. I have changed my practice style by practicing less and less as the performance day arrives. I feel that if im trying to cram in the lyrics, I will forget them.

What is the most memorable response you've had to your work?
Answer:

The most memorable response I have had is when I have doing Good Times and I had the entire crowd singing the chorus. It was not the most family friendly chorus.....but everybody was involved.

What has been your most embarassing moment while pursuing music?
Answer:

THe most embarassing moment was when I was booed off the stage at a talent show. It was terrible, the clown came out and swept me off and everything. lmao.

What jobs have you done other than being an artist?
Answer:

I was a clerk at an ice cream shop called Carvel, I was a security guard at a car impound lot and after that, I was a soldier.
