Naomi Pilgrim
About:
Naomi Pilgrim is the Swedish-Barbadian artist who in 2013 charmed the music world with her debut single No Gun. After singing backup for artists like fellow Swede Lykke Li, the time had come for Naomi to fulfil her dreams by performing her own music. Her Naomi Pilgrim EP was showered with praise from music blogs and reviewers alike. British The Guardian put the single House of Dreams on their favourites list, Andy Warhol's Interview magazine snagged the first interview with the artist, and the blogosphere resembled her to Sade and Ms. Lauryn Hill. In 2016 Pilgrim came back with a raw, naked and symphonic second EP, Sink Like a Stone EP. In the time that passed since No Gun’s release, Naomi Pilgrim performed across Europe, drawing large crowds at festivals like Sweden’s Way Out West and Norway’s by:Larm. The title track on her latest EP, co-written with Henrik Jonzon, is inspired by African-American Eric Garner's death in New York in 2014. The two remaining tracks on Naomi Pilgrim’s new EP offer an intimate glimpse into the artist’s inner life. I Wonder, co-written with old friends Oskar Blondell and Nanna Brickman, explores a relationship coming apart at the seams. The song Mama is the EP’s beacon of light, a love story starring Naomi’s mother Marie.
