Miguel Da Costa aka «
shakambo » is a French-Portuguese bass player and composer based in Paris. Though playing a lot in bands like
Empty House or
Goldiggerz, and project such as
Wíyake as a sideman, this is his first musical project on his own.
Heavily inspired by jazz, soul, hip hop, brazilian and electronic music, shakambo blends all of his influences on warm pieces of music that enfolds you.
Shakambo's debut EP «
Lavalamp » dropped on July 2019. Inspired by a trip in Japan, the EP blends sampled parts, live instruments and foleys from Kyoto and Tokyo. Second single of the EP «
Enoki » was featured on the
Road Trip To Tokyo playlist by Spotify.
Hungry to keep going, he focused a lot on collaborations with friends and other musicians, that led to some singles such as «
Everywhere » and «
Portals ». He also did an appearance on
Lofi Losers «
Dreams [Vol.3] » compilation.
For 2020 summer, a new EP «
Rede e Nêspera » dropped on July 8th 2020. This is shakambo’s first official label release, with Canadian label
Esydia.
Inspired by Brazilian music jazz and soul, «
Rede e Nêspera » is a sunny piece of music for summer days.
In 2021, a new mini EP with shakambo's long friend
Darmusey released on February 19th 2020, alongside
