The Sun Harmonic is a folk/rock band fronted by Canadian songwriter Kaleb Hikele, a prolific recording artist based in Toronto's east end, from small town St Thomas, Ontario. Kaleb has released his truly Canadian folk album, Coast to Coast, recorded across the country from west to east coast; “Coast to Coast” is for sale now: LP/CD/Digital/Streaming
In his first decade as The Sun Harmonic, Kaleb toured from coast to coast in Canada as a solo artist, accompanied by opera singers, a chamber string orchestra, and now backed by a rock and roll trio.
Kaleb Hikele, a classically trained pianist turned songwriter, created the moniker in 2009 and debuted with three solo albums in 2009-10' - he sidetracked to record with
The Broadview Band and
King Snake Crawl - after eight years he debuted his ambitious and storied double album (created only in the winter, written only on piano);
Winter: Chapter One , released in 2017. He followed this massive project with a 7" record to celebrate his tenth anniversary;
A Heart So Heavy was released in the spring of 2019 and he set off on a solo tour to mark ten years as The Sun Harmonic.
The band's last gig was on the main stage in Winnipeg, showcased by Canada's Walk of Fame, at Festival Du Voyageur, just weeks before the pandemic hit. Their EP "It's All Okay, Thanks To You" was released in the first month of lockdown, April 2020.
