Safari Room is an indie rock band best described as “midwest emo, assembled in Nashville.” With a keenness on human connection as a founding cornerstone, the band is characterized by ambient soundscapes, intricate rhythms, baritone-led falsetto vocals, crunchy guitars and introspective lyrical content. Safari Room is currently composed of Alec Koukol (songwriter / lead vocalist / guitarist), Chris Collier (guitar) and Austin Drewry (drums).
Safari Room released their debut album, ‘Look Me Up When You Get There,’ in July 2020. The band self-produced a majority of the record and onboarded Nashville legend, Paul Moak, to co-produce the remainder. It proved to be a feat of emotional and musical marriage; cataloging isolation, loneliness, grief and anxiety. As the band continues to seek connection through music, fans and listeners are drawn in by the “emotional open door” Safari Room sets forth.
Safari Room spent the first six months of 2021 in the studio crafting the band’s sophomore album. Working with local producer and friend, Cole Yepsen, the band continued to hone the unique and dynamic sound of Safari Room’s future. Safari Room’s second full-length album is slated for the first half of 2022.
