How to Dress Well is Tom Krell. Tom is a singer and producer and writer and also, it should be said, a student of poetry and philosophy (and is currently completing a PhD in the latter). HTDW ranges musically from ambient dirges (check "Suicide Dream 2" on Love Remains) to shimmering pop (try "Made a Lifetime" from Care), from footwork ("Struggle" on Total Loss) to something altogether unclassifiable ("Pour Cyril" from What is This Heart?). Each HTDW record offers a tour of a totally new sonic and emotional world, with Krell's artistic and philosophical vision bringing the whole project together.
