Dave Wesley is a prolific and veteran producer of experimental, ambient, and post-dub techno music who produces under several aliases including Existente (ambient), Xerography (deep techno, and The Mayhem Lecture Series (experimental and field recordings). He is the founder of underground music and culture focused Sursumcorda Records and Magazine and sister deep music label Arctic Dub (Sursumcorda). Sursumcorda originated as a art and music collective website in 1998, which evolved into a unique Minneapolis nightclub for electronic and live music, in the early 2000s. His new experimental ambient label, Guias Sonoras, launched in 2020. Greatly influenced by minimalism and iterative process oriented art - he creates pieces that, on the surface, are repetitive, while deeper listening reveals a subtly evolving cinematic scene. He's also obsessed with the contradistinction of contemporary clean digital sonics within beds and layers of lo-fi aural contexts and field recordings. Dave has released on several labels including Dewtone, Philip Glass’ Orange Mountain Music, Communique, and his own Arctic Dub (Sursumcorda) and Guias Sonoras labels.
