On his latest track Prussian Blue : "Prussian Blue is a deep blue powder used in painting, but the color also has this dark, twisted history: the same ingredients that make Prussian Blue also create cyanide, and there's a dark colonial history of Europeans extracting its ingredients from North Africa. To me, Prussian Blue is a reminder of the destruction that often accompanies our pursuit of beauty. I wrote 'Prussian Blue' right after I slept with someone during the pandemic, pre-vaccines. At the time, it felt good to reclaim this type of human connection many of us had been cut off from during the pandemic, but it also felt dangerous, reckless, even potentially deadly. Similar to the color Prussian Blue, this experience created both beautiful and potentially disastrous outcomes."
