Blissful Sigh by Pia Salvia is WORLDLY in More Ways Than One!

Pia Salvia - harpist and singer extraordinaire - is a highly talented and accomplished musician we just can't get enough of. She has studied music around the world in Belgium (her native country), Norway, France and the United States where she currently is residing in NYC.

This year we were first impressed with her single “Dark Longing” that hit streaming platforms in June and she followed it with a mindblowing album, Blissful Sigh, just a few weeks later.

"Dark Longing" is centered on influences from the jazz world, as well as the NYC music scene. It begins with a melodic touch of spoken word and poetry, before the smooth beat comes in and the chorus sung in French takes over listeners like a wave of emotion. One of the things that makes this artist so interesting is her incredible ability to layer in the harp into this track, adding a dreamy and sultry tone to such a powerful message. Salvia’s vocal ability and skills on the harp are some things we have never seen or heard before.

Other favorites on the album include the simplistic yet compelling opening track "Vague à l'âme" for its contrast between instrumental dissonances and her crisp and soothing vocals and the title track "Blissful Sigh". Salvia has an impeccable ability to blend a nostalgic sound with one that is more modern and familiar to our ear. You certainly don't want to miss out on this masterpiece.
