Shamanic Properties Driven From Western Canada

As Halloween approaches, leaves are falling and a mist seems to be rolling in from the mountains Anilah seemed like the perfect musician to talk about. More or so Anilah's song 'Medicine Chant'. Anilah produces and crafts her own music out of Western Canada. Drawing from the wilderness around to produce this form of World music easily thrown into a "witch/folk" category. 'Medicine Chant' easily draws inspiration from classic tribal practices, rituals and shamanic properties. Alone the track is an extended 15 minutes which may sound ridiculous but in Anilah case, the track could go on even longer. Another element to add to this noir, Nordic, alternative combination is the psychoacoustic engineering involved within the mixing. Anilah has described why psychoacoustic engineering is a progressive tool in the contribution to the entire 'Warrior' mix.

One of the most appealing aspects that comes to mind has to be a complete and utter fascination with the elements. Mother nature has given this talented individual an exclusive invite into the psyche or the world.

If I haven't already mentioned Anilah is the stage name of Dréa Drury who also offers various styles in coaching. From vocals, creativity to commissions. Drury encompasses one form into another without failing. Each and every beat measured rings throughout the entire track. Nowhere in 'Medicine Chant' does Drury come off as a fake or unrealistic copycat. Instead Drury follows in pursuit to a creative outpouring of intense emotion.

'Warrior' fills out any potential inquiry, catapulting the senses into another time that become fully aware. Anilah may be the very excuse to experience a holy transcendence of spirit, body and mind.

One aspect that caught my attention was Drury explains that music is a sort of medicine. Similar to the point where certain instruments in various cultures are actually consider healing properties. In a similar fashion 'Warrior' closes in on this expectation and formulates the complete full circle truth.

Figuring out where to place 'Medicine Chant' in the ever growing fascination of genre's could not have been harder. However the World genre seems to be a fiting place or the moment until another subgenre falls into existence. But don't let the simple genre seat fool you, take a listen to Anilah captivating essence into another time.
