This is a composer and drummer who I haven’t heard of before. He is popularly known for his jazz drumming. He is also very well known for his 2014 soundtrack album and music to the film . This music nominated him for the 2014 Golden Globe for Best Original Score. Add this to his previous albums, which also featured cameos by renowned Jazz artists like Chick Corea and others. Certainly, these had to be some of Sanchez’s earliest influences to inspire him. is almost completely a score dominated by the drums. I have watched a screening or two on youtube where Sanchez himself played his drum score live. It is nothing short of spectacular. No wonder it was also nominated and won a grammy. It is full of cymbals and illustrious fills that take your breath away if you ever were to hear it live. Sanchez also is a faculty member at New York University and lives nearby the campus. He has gone onto start recording some future albums to add to his great career—much of it yet to be discovered.BirdmanBirman
