Eric Scott is no stranger to folks in Washington DC. He’s a 15-time Wammie winner (WAMA - Washington Area Musicians Association) and he has toured with B.B. King, Mavis Staples, Aaron Neville, REO Speedwagon, and Pink Floyd’s Roger Waters (to name a few). He’s written, produced, and released 5 solo albums.’
His newest soul track “Peace Bomb” produced by Jim Ebert (Madonna, Cowboy Mouth, Meredith Brooks, Buth Walker, etc.) and upbeat from the word go it starts out calling all warriors of peace to action, hits a joyful and funky stride, then grabs you by the arm and insists you groove your way to the very end before gently dropping you off. Strings, funky guitars, and Scott’s Marvin Gaye-esque tenor propel this sentiment of love, self-empowerment, and peace.
“I’ve always wanted to record a song that shows my love for 70’s soul and pop music, and has those sensibilities and themes, but with my own modern spin on it."
It’s a protest song and a soulful listen all at once.
"What if a bomb dropped on everybody, and instead of causing pain and destruction...it brought about peace and love? At a time when we really
needed it most? That time is now.."
