Que Sera, Sera Is As Important As Ever

Call it irony or radio DJ's know exactly what they are doing. As the United States elections have come to a close and the states will be left with an uneasy impending feeling for the next four years 'Que Sera, Sera' by Sly & the Family Stone started playing a lot more. The many covers which exist today and even infamous films such as 'Heathers' have played the song. 'Que Sera, Sera' has been played over as times become uncertain. Maybe one could dedicate the counter culture involved during the time the song was created, so the essence Sly & the Family Stone stood for/against back in the day has casted a hell of a lot more meaning today as well.Call it an oldie but goodie...however, a few of us are singing along to 'Que Sera, Sera' because music from every decade (especailly the Nixon era) has been resurfacing. Even a few bands today are creating simple folk renditions of troubled times lyrically infleunced by the craziness ensuing the world.'Que Sera, Sera' depicting a future not quite easy in description. About a girl growing up or in today's case any child growing up today. How through tough days, we must come together and sometimes things are just as they are. Out of reach, hard to indentify or the classic "will be". Traditionally as the past decades have taught us... revolutions, evolution and great music will come out of a terrible future. Allowing for new footsteps to follow in place, bridging a gap between the uncertainty. Sly & the Family Stone seems practically perfect to listen too at the moment. To give a bit of reflection, learn from past mistakes and hopefully in the end a great song will come from the masses attached with memories. Then again only time will tell what is about to happen, just like the great 'Que Sera, Sera'.
