“Over The Line” is Indie prog-rock musician Honeypot’s newest single released just in time at the height of the 2020 Presidential Election. With the political turmoil we are in as a nation, and the deep divide amongst Americans, music is the perfect way to come together as one in solidarity and as a means to let out emotion. For that reason, “Over The Line” is a must-have on everyone’s playlist: a reminder that we are all one people.
Honeypot is the solo act of Charleston-based guitarist and drummer Frank Hartman, who uses 60s and 70s classic rock influences mixed with progressive rock and grunge. His music is current, drawing inspiration from social issues and politics to deliver positive messages to his listeners. With “Over The Line”, Honeypot delivers a message that “we are all Americans. We may have a difference of opinions, but our country should always come before the Party”. Accompanied by a music video montage depicting recent police violence and protests from this year, both the song and video remind us all that despite the carnage and division, we must care for ourselves and others. This is one song you truly don’t want to miss.
