Expect The Best From Bombardier Jones

Bombardier Jones breathes new life into the soft rock genre, combining frontrunner Ian Jone’s love for British rock and post-punk into something altogether new. Based in Baltimore, Jones is well recognized in the DC rock and roll scene for his melodious vocals, funky guitar solos, and twangy horns. The band’s new album, Dare to Hope, is an exciting take on their sound, especially the album’s lively opening track, “Great Idea.”

Jones wrote “Great Idea” as a sort of an “unplug manifesto” meant to emphasize the beauty of the world outside. The catchy chorus is a call to put down that phone and just get out there, and get the listener off their feet in the process. The rocking guitar and headbanger drums atop such sing-along vocals are reminiscent of the likes of The Monkees, all with a new age twist. Jones meant for this song to say “breathe, dance, play, raise hell, and shake your blues away” — and with such high energy, the track certainly gets that feeling across.
