Generally when I get a album with a reggae flavor it usually means one thing. A heavy Dance Hip Hop Vibe with a overdriven bass track and a ton of echoed beats. ThreePeace hailing from Michigan really delivers the goods on their songs and they do this while not going overboard with the heavy dance hall vibe. The band has released 6 full length albums dating back to 2005, all of them certainly rocking hard around the reggae groove, and sometimes just rocking in other tracks. The band continues to evolve with the major influence of The Police, Bob Marley, Tom Petty, Steve Miller, Led Zeppelin, Classic Rock and much of the Reggae Rock genre, you just expect that these guys will deliver the goods, and they do. Listening to their Greatest Hits : Pieces of Three album was a very cool journey start to finish. The album starts in high gear with the song "Liberty or Death" which speaks of the loss of freedom's that are happening all the time, while most are too busy to notice. The band is not afraid to try different things and there are multiple genre's on this album from Rock, Reggae, Blues, Punk and Classic Rock, there is something on the album for everyone. The band appears to be one of the last of the social critics ala Green Day. They speak out on many topics which need to be addressed. The band does all of this while keeping the music very entertaining.
