Leather Slave - II

Leather Slave are an interesting American raw noise-rock band, whose latest album ''II'' came out back in 2015. Leather Slave are known for their feedback laden and somewhat lo-fi sounding heavy noise-rock material, and thus their sound will probably bring forth comparisons to Brainbombs for people, who are well-versed in the discography of these Swedish noise-rock greats.

The Leather Slave album starts off with a track titled ''Human Horse'', and it packs some Brainbombs'esque raw repetitive noise-rock material from start to finish, and does this extremely well. Pretty much the same thing can also be said about the second track ''Mush Mouth'' and the third track ''Dispose'', which both sound like a mixture of Brainbombs and Narcosatanicos with their repetitive drumming and feedback laden heavy noise rock madness. ''My Car Is My Car'' also tends to go along a similar maniacal path, as does ''Eyeball Bird Food'', which sounds a lot like Brainbombs to my ear - an ear that has been succumbed to a lot of Brainbombs through the years. To be fair all the tracks on this album pretty much pack this clear Brainbombs vibe, which means a mixture of repetitive noise-rock and noise punk elements. Elements that come perhaps best apparent in the lengthy last track of the album titled ''Piss Pet''.

Leather Slave have so far released two albums, and both of them pack some fine and heavy no-nonsense kind of noise rock, and thus are both worth checking out by anyone who is into this kind of stuff. Their material should especially please the ears of anyone who is into Brainbombs, Homopolice, Clockcleaner or Narcosatanicos. Or Unsane.
