I think most people who dig noise-rock/indie rock/post-hardcore know Fugazi. An introduction here is perhaps not needed, since the band is universally regarded as one of the best bands from among these genres. They have released a number of pretty awesome albums through the years, and if I would have to choose my favorite album among them, then I would have to probably go with ''Steady Diet Of Nothing'' - their 1991 album.
The album packs some fine noisy garage rock/post-hardcore/noise-rock/mathrock material from start to finish, with ''Exit Only'' starting off the album in a pretty catchy and heavy noise-rock manner. ''Reclamation'' moves more in mathrock terrain for my ear, but still pretty much keeps the noisy yet melodic alternative rock/noise-rock coating. The same thing can essentially be said about the third track ''Nice New Outfit'', while ''Stacks'' packs some fine feedback laden noisy bits to make for a pretty catchy track together with the vocals and the fine bass section. The fifth track ''Latin Roots'' pretty much again packs some melodic mathrockish noise-rock for my ear, and does this pretty well. While saying this the best tracks on the entire album are probably ''Steady Diet'' and ''Runaway Return'', with the first one packing some pretty fine, noisy and heavy hardcoreish noise-rock bits, with the second one pretty much doing the same thing in a catchy and memorable way. The last track on the album packs some fine heavy noise rock material as well, and thus brings the album to a pretty good conclusion.
All in all ''Steady Diet Of Nothing'' pretty much doesn't have any bad tracks from start to finish, and thus keeps its place as one of the best Fugazi albums for me. If anyone hasn't checked this album out already, then they should definitely do this.
