David Nance - More Than Enough

David Nance came out with a full-length album titled ''More Than Enough'' earlier this year, and this album packs some pretty good garage rock/psych rock that at parts even sounds a bit like the Japanese psychedelic noise rock outfit White Heaven among others.

The album starts of with a short intro track ''More Than Enough'' while the second track on the album is titled ''Pure Evil', and it offers some pretty catchy and melodic somewhat lo-fi sounding garage rock. Sounding almost like a mellower parallel dimension version of Purling Hiss or possibly nothing like that. The third track ''Never Gonna Fail'' starts off in a very similar way to many Ha-Za-Ma tracks, which makes you feel that this might be the beginning of a 1995 Japanese psychedelic rock album. This feeling however ends when the vocals set in, after which the track pretty much sounds like mellow garage rock with a meandering psych dimension to it as well. The fourth track ''Unamused'' feels like a track suitable for a soundtrack to a war film, and packs some rather mellow garage rock with some fine feedback laden guitar tunes. '''Isn't That The Case'' also packs some rather mellow upbeat garage rock, while ''Fully Automatic'' is a track that sounds very much like an American version of White Heaven to my ears, and is thus without a doubt the best track on the entire album. While saying this then the 10 minute long ''Stuck On The Funny Side Of Hell'' is also a damn fine track, and packs some solid memorable feedback laden garage rock to rival in awesomeness with ''Fully Automatic''. The album is finished off with a rather lo-fi sounding track ''All I Wan't To Know Is When You're) Coming Home'' which reminds The Television to me quite a bit.

All in all ''More Than Enough'' packs some rather interesting garage rock for most of the duration of the album, with the songs reminding underground Japanese psych rock at certain points while at other points reminding the likes of The Television and just some solid feedback laden garage rock. Whatever the case may be it is worth checking out.
