David Crosby, singer, songwriter, activist, lights the way with his new digital release, "Lighthouse". The album was recorded at Groove Masters Studio in Santa Monica California. The studio is owned by Jackson Browne, a long time friend and musical colleague of Crosby.
Lighthouse is the fifth studio album by Crosby, released on October 21, 2016 by GroundUp Music. Crosby has been inducted into the hall of fame not once... but twice! The first time it was with his legendary group The Byrds, and the second induction was with Crosby-Stills-Nash-& Young. The new album is currently available worldwide on CD, Vinyl, and Digital platforms. Half the songs on the new album were also cowritten by Snarky Puppy's Michael League, who also assisted in the album's production.
"To create brand new music that I'm excited about is a pearl beyond price." states Crosby regarding the new release. David debuted a heartfelt, poignant song, T hings We Do for Love"which was written for his wife of forty years, Jan. Listening to the song, it truly brought me back to his signature sound that I adored as a fan of CSN&Y. This is an absolutely gorgeous arrangement of harmonies and the instrumental reflects that signature Crosby groove that we know so well. Lighthouseis one of his best works yet.
As a longtime activist, Crosby continues to share his political views through his music, as evident within the song, "Look into Their Eyes", a poignant statement regarding the heartbreaking reality of the current Syrian refuse crisis.

After forty years of ownership, Crosby has decided that it is time for his magnificant sailboat to venture on with a new owner. Interesting note here is that many of Crosby's songs have been created on board this majestic, wooden schooner, Mayan. With David Crosby's love for sailing and songwriting-Mayan had been his muse and inspiration for many of his songs, one notably.. my favorite song... Wooden Ships.
