If you like the recent hard rock/garage/psychedelic revival scene, then you probably got to the name of Ty Segall, a multi-instrumentalist, singer-songwriter and record producer, coming from California. He’s been a member of many bands such as Fuzz, Broken Bat, GØGGS, The Traditional Fools, Epsilons, Party Fowl, Sic Alps, and The Perverts, but he is most recognized for his solo career, having recorded and released eight studio albums, alongside various EPs and singles. Segall began his recording career as a part-time musician in various underground bands in Orange County and the San Francisco Bay Area, before starting a solo career in 2008. Segall's first solo release was the cassette “Horn The Unicorn” released on the Wizard Mountain label.

Soon after he released his debut solo album, “Ty Segall” (2008), on the label Castle Face Records, owned by John Dwyer, of Thee Oh Sees. The two became firm friends, with Segall noting: "The music community is amazing here, super-tight, and John Dwyer's like the Mayor of San Francisco. Come down here, you'll see him riding his bike, drinking a beer, and he'll probably take you out to get a taco. He's the nicest guy in the world.". After the release of his debut record, Segall recorded a string of limited 7" singles and a split LP with the band Black Time. In 2009, Segall released “Lemons,” followed by another string of successful singles and “Reverse Shark Attack” an album with longtime collaborator Mikal Cronin. The studio albums “Melted” and “Goodbye Bread” followed in 2010 and 2011 respectively.

The year 2012 saw the release of three full-length albums: “Hair,” with White Fence, released in April, “Slaughterhouse,” recorded with his touring band and released June 26, as well as one solo album called “Twins,” released on October 9. Two singles were launched: "The Hill" and "Would You Be My Love?".

In November 2015, Segall announced the new studio album “Emotional Mugger” with by a video introducing The Muggers, his new backing band, which replaced Ty Segall Band, his long-time collaborators. His style is a mix of all his heroes, primarily Hawkwind, Black Sabbath, Marc Bolan, The Stooges, Black Flag, and many more. If you like these bands, you’ll probably love Ty Segall!
